Scheme fraud: I met this woman online, and we’ve been talking for over a year. She wants to visit me in the U.S., but her PayPal name doesn’t match her passport. She claims it’s because her PayPal isn’t registered with the Ukrainian government.
She says I need to send her $4,500–$6,000 to show she has the funds required for a visa. I also need to pay for her airline ticket. She promised to repay me $5,000 when she arrives.
We’ve done video chats, but she got upset when I asked her to create a bank account to prove her identity. She said she lost access to old photos because of a health issue and only has her new passport and visa.
Now, I’m trying to verify if her documents are real before sending money, as I’ve heard stories of scammers disappearing after getting paid.
