Scheme fraud: The scammer matched with me on Tinder around the 12th of January and the conversation moved to WhatsApp. She asked for money after a few days claiming that she was sick due to sleeping in a basement due to the war. She begged me to help her leave Ukraine, and kept on asking for many weeks. The story sounded very legit and did make sense as there was a war there and people were fleeing, so I thought to maybe help her leave and make a new friend in the process. She initially asked for money for groceries and then asked for money for a bus ticket out of Ukraine to Poland, where she said she will be able to fly for free to me. The she asked me to send money for her passport renewal (I have attached a copy of her passport as well). I sent her the money, but she kept asking more, and made up some story about the passport office requiring her to pay more for a special feature in the passport, and I paid a little more and then stopped. She then asked me to send her more because the passport office offered to make two passports so that when she arrived, she won’t have any problems. This was obviously absurd and my suspicions were confirmed that she was lying and scamming me of money. She had no intention of leaving and all she wanted was to lie and scam someone to send her money for whatever reason. She needs to be stopped or she will continue scamming other innocent people of their money by making them feel sorry for her and to send her money. I have attached copies of the conversations on WhatsApp and also her bank account details and address.
