Scheme fraud:
This case appears to involve a coordinated Telegram romance scam targeting a Korean victim. The woman introduced herself as a Ukrainian girl affected by the war and used emotional pressure, personal photos, and a third-party Korean intermediary to make the story look more believable.
The reported contact started through a Korean man who presented her as someone who wanted to leave Ukraine and come to Korea. After that, communication moved to Telegram, where the profile used the name Sasha and the username @prinsasha. The phone number connected to the case was reported as +380 97 149 5406.
The central manipulation was built around the war in Ukraine. The victim was told that she needed help to escape the country, travel abroad, and reach Korea safely. This made the request for money sound urgent and humanitarian rather than romantic fraud.
According to the victim report, the money was not sent directly to the Ukrainian woman. Instead, the Korean intermediary allegedly instructed the victim to transfer funds through a local Korean bank account. This is an important warning sign: scammers often use a local middleman or “helper” to make the payment feel safer and more familiar.
The total reported loss was approximately $4,000. The payments were connected to travel, relocation, and emergency expenses. The story followed a classic pattern: first emotional closeness, then urgency, then a promise of meeting in person, and finally repeated requests for money before the meeting ever happened.
The photos used in this case also played a major role. Several casual selfies were provided, including mirror photos and a verification-style selfie with a handwritten note. This type of content can make the profile look real, but it does not prove that the person behind the Telegram account is the woman in the photos.
