Anastasiia Chernykh

In this case, the woman communicated under the name Anastasiia Chernykh and claimed to be a Ukrainian citizen living in Kyiv, Ukraine. A Ukrainian ID card bearing this identity was submitted to us for verification.

Our examination determined that the Ukrainian ID card was fake. The document did not confirm the existence of a Ukrainian citizen with the identity presented to the client.

Further investigation established that the woman shown in the photographs was not Anastasiia Chernykh and was not the Ukrainian woman described in the document. The photographs were connected to a Russian woman identified during our investigation as Aleksandra Zhurova.

Fake Ukrainian Identity

The central deception in this case was the use of a fabricated Ukrainian identity. The woman was presented as Anastasiia Chernykh from Kyiv, and the fake Ukrainian ID card was intended to make this story appear legitimate.

A passport or ID image is often sent after a victim begins asking questions about a woman’s identity, location or travel plans. A convincing-looking document may reduce suspicion and make later requests for money appear more credible.

In this case, however, the identity shown in the document did not match the real woman connected to the photographs.

Other Names Connected to the Photographs

The same or matching photographs had previously appeared in an anti-scam report under the name Khrystyna.

This suggests that the photographs were used under more than one identity. Different names may be used for different victims, dating platforms or stages of the same scheme.

Additional online material connected the photographs to the webcam username Berycole.

Webcam activity does not by itself prove romance fraud. However, this connection contradicted the personal identity and background presented to the client and helped establish that the Ukrainian identity supported by the fake ID card was not genuine.

Possible Use of a Third-Party Payment Recipient

Ukrainian payment details were reportedly provided in connection with the case.

This may indicate that a third-party recipient in Ukraine was used to receive money while the woman connected to the photographs was located in Russia. However, the identity and exact role of the payment recipient must be verified separately.

The existence of Ukrainian bank or payment details does not prove that the woman herself is Ukrainian or physically located in Ukraine.

In romance scams, third-party recipients may be described as:

• a friend;
• a relative;
• a landlord;
• a travel agent;
• a translator;
• an employer;
• a volunteer;
• another person allegedly helping the woman receive money.

A payment recipient using a different name should always be checked before money is sent.

How the Scheme Worked

1. The woman communicated under the Ukrainian name Anastasiia Chernykh.
2. She claimed to live in Kyiv, Ukraine.
3. A Ukrainian ID card was presented as proof of her identity and citizenship.
4. Our verification determined that the ID card was fake.
5. The woman in the photographs was connected to the Russian identity Aleksandra Zhurova.
6. The same photographs were found under the additional name Khrystyna.
7. The photographs were also connected to the webcam username Berycole.
8. Ukrainian payment details were reportedly used in connection with the story.

The combination of a false Ukrainian name, a fake Ukrainian identity document, several aliases and conflicting online profiles shows that the identity presented to the client was deliberately constructed.

What the Fake ID Card Was Intended to Prove

The document was apparently used to convince the client that:

• the woman’s legal name was Anastasiia Chernykh;
• she was a Ukrainian citizen;
• she lived in Kyiv;
• the woman in the photographs and the document holder were the same person;
• her travel, financial or personal story could be trusted.

A fake document can be visually convincing, especially when viewed only as a compressed screenshot received through Telegram, WhatsApp or another messenger.

The presence of a photograph that resembles the woman does not make the remaining document data genuine.

Important Warning About the Photographs

Finding these photographs in another case does not automatically prove that every person using them is Aleksandra Zhurova.

The photographs may also be:

• copied by another scammer;
• used by an agency employee;
• taken from an old webcam profile;
• reused under a new name;
• combined with a different fake passport or ID card;
• used by someone who has no direct connection to the real woman.
